Pillow shams add the finishing touch to make your bedroom look complete. Shams can be created with a window frame flange edge, a shirred edge, no border with large welt around the outside edge, or beautifully sculpted designs. By adding decorative trim, buttons, or top stitching, the pillow sham can create a focus point for the bed.

   Adding an embroidered pattern to the center of the sham, then copying that same pattern on the face of a cornice board pulls the entire room together. Pillow shams can be made to fit any size pillow from standard, queen to king. 

Flange Pillow Sham - Our pattern for the flange pillow sham is the same design that is used on the Cottage Bed (see Cottage Headboard plan). With mitered corners that match perfectly, the flange creates a beautiful window frame for the center panel. For the Cottage, we used the same fabric in the center of the pillow sham. To create a more unique design, use a contrasting or patterned fabric in the center.
